 Air Quality Bulletin for Delhi NCR (25.02.2020)

1.     As per AQ-EWS models the air quality is likely remain in moderate to poor category on 25.02.2020. The air quality is likely to deteriorate marginally but remain in poor category on 26.02.2020. The air quality is likely remain in poor to moderate category on 27.02.2020   

2.     The predominant surface wind is likely to be coming from West-Southwest direction of Delhi having wind speed upto 10 kmph on 25.02.2020 with partly cloudy sky, smoke. The predominant surface wind is likely to be coming from East direction of Delhi having wind speed upto 10 kmph on 26.02.2020 with mainly clear sky, mist/shallow fog in the morning. The predominant surface wind is likely to be coming from East direction of Delhi having wind speed upto 12 kmph on 27.02.2020 with partly cloudy sky, mist/shallow fog in the morning.

3.  Predicted maximum mixing depth is likely to remain from 2100 m on 26.02.2020, 2450 m on 26.02.2020, 1500 m on 27.02.2020 over Delhi. Ventilation index is likely to be 11500 m2/s on 25.02.2020, 12000 m2/s on 26.02.2020, 2500 m2/s on 27.02.2020. The ventilation index lower than 6000 m2/s with average wind speed less than 10 kmph is unfavourable for dispersion of pollutants. 

4.    No significant dust transport from neighbouring states in Delhi is expected.
