 Air Quality and Weather Bulletin for Delhi NCR (03.02.2023)

1.  Air Quality Observation: The overall air quality of Delhi was observed in Moderate category with AQI of 194 at 4 PM on 02.02.2023. The predominant winds were from Northwest direction with wind speed 08-18 kmph during daytime becoming calm in the night on 02.02.2023.  

2. The air quality is likely to deteriorate marginally but remain largely in Moderate category from 03.02.2023 to 04.02.2023. The air quality is likely to remain in Moderate category on 05.02.2023 but reach in lower end of Poor category on 06.02.2023. The outlook for subsequent 6 Days: The air quality is likely to remain in Moderate category. The winds are likely to be relatively much stronger from 07.02.2023.

3.  The predominant surface wind is likely to be coming from Northwest direction in Delhi with wind speed up to 16 kmph and clear sky on 03.02.2023. The predominant surface wind is likely to be coming from Northwest direction in Delhi with wind speed 20-25 kmph, clear sky and strong surface winds (speed 25-35 kmph) during the day on 04.02.2023. The predominant surface wind is likely to be coming from Northwest direction in Delhi with wind speed 16-08 kmph during daytime becoming calm in the night and mainly clear sky on 05.02.2023. The predominant surface wind is likely to be coming from Northwest/Southwest direction in Delhi with wind speed 06-12 and mainly clear sky on 06.02.2023.

4.    Predicted maximum mixing depth is likely to be 1130 m on 03.02.2023, 980 m on 04.02.2023, 1300 m on 05.02.2023 and 1250 m on 06.02.2023 over Delhi. Ventilation index is likely to be 7500 m2/s on 03.02.2023 & 04.02.2023, 9800 m2/s on 05.02.2023 and 5500 m2/s on 06.02.2023 over Delhi. The ventilation index lower than 6000 m2/s with average wind speed less than 10 kmph is unfavourable for dispersion of pollutants.

The overall air quality of Ahmedabad was observed to be in Moderate category with AQI of 108 at 4 PM on 02.02.2023.

The air quality is likely to remain in Satisfactory category from 03.02.2023 to 05.02.2023.

 

Air Quality Bulletin for Mumbai (03.02.2023)

The overall air quality of Mumbai was observed to be in Moderate category with AQI of 180 at 4 PM on 02.02.2023.

Strong winds ranging from 06-20 kmph are likely. The air quality is likely to remain in Moderate category from 03.02.2023 to 05.02.2023.
