 Air Quality and Weather Bulletin for Delhi NCR (14.07.2020)

 1.  As per AQ-EWS models the air quality over Delhi NCR is likely to remain in Moderate category on 14.07.2020. The air quality is likely to improve and reach in Satisfactory category on 15.07.2020. The air quality is likely to improve further but remain in Satisfactory category on 16.07.2020.

 2. The predominant surface wind is likely to be coming from East/Southeast direction of Delhi having wind speed upto 15 kmph with partly cloudy sky with possibility of thundery development towards evening/ night on 14.07.2020. The predominant surface wind is likely to be coming from East/Southeast direction of Delhi having wind speed upto 18 kmph with partly cloudy sky and light rain/thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) towards evening on 15.07.2020. The predominant surface wind is likely to be coming from East/Southeast direction of Delhi having wind speed upto 15 kmph with generally cloudy sky and light rain/thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) on 16.07.2020.

 3.    Predicted maximum mixing depth is likely to remain from 3550 m on 14.07.2020, 3150 m on 15.07.2020 and 2400 m on 16.07.2020 over Delhi. Ventilation index is likely to be 17300 m2/s on  14.07.2020, 17500 m2/s on 15.07.2020 and 10000 m2/s on 16.07.2020. The ventilation index lower than 6000 m2/s with average wind speed less than 10 kmph is unfavourable for dispersion of pollutants.

 4.    No significant dust transport from neighbouring states to impact air quality over Delhi NCR.
