 Air Quality and Weather Bulletin for Delhi (02.11.2025)

  1. Past Weather and Air Quality Observation: The air quality over Delhi was in Very Poor category with CPCB AQI 303 at 4 PM on 01.11.2025. There has been fall in minimum temperature up to 1 - 3oC and no large change in maximum temperature during past 24 hours over Delhi. The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi were around 28 to 30°C and 16 to 17°C respectively. The minimum temperature was above normal up to 1 - 3 °C and maximum temperature was below normal up to 1 - 3oC. Shallow fog was reported at Safdarjung airport. Safdarjung airport recorded the lowest visibility 1000 m at 0730 Hrs IST on 02.11.2025 which thereafter improved becoming 1200m at 0800 Hrs IST. Mainly clear sky conditions with predominant surface wind from the northwest direction associated with calm wind as gradually increase becoming up to 10 kmph prevailed during the past 24 hours. Mainly clear sky conditions associated with calm wind as gradually increase becoming up to 10 kmph from the southwest direction prevailed over the region in the forenoon today.
  2. Mainly clear sky. Smog/Shallow fog during night. The maximum temperatures were in the range of 30 to 32°C. The maximum temperature will be above normal up to 1 - 2oC. The predominant surface wind will likely to be from the northwest direction with a wind speed of up to 15 kmph during afternoon hours. The wind speed will decrease becoming less than 05 kmph from the northwest direction during the evening and night on 02.11.2025. Mainly clear sky with smog/shallow fog during morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are likely to be in the range of 30 to 32°C and 16 to 18°C respectively. The minimum temperature will be above normal up to 1 - 2oC and the maximum temperature will be above normal up to 1 - 2oC. The predominant surface wind will likely to be from the northwest direction associated with calm wind as gradually increase becoming up to 10 kmph during morning hours. The wind speed will gradually increase becoming up to 15 kmph from the northwest direction in the afternoon. The wind speed will decrease becoming less than 05 kmph from the southeast direction during the evening and night on 03.11.2025.Partly cloudy sky with smog/shallow fog during morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are likely to be in the range of 30 to 32°C and 17 to 19°C respectively. The minimum temperature will be above normal up to 1 - 3oC and the maximum temperature will be above normal up to 1 - 2oC. The predominant surface wind will likely to be from the southeast direction associated with calm wind as gradually increasing up to 05 kmph during morning hours.  The wind speed will increase becoming less than 10 kmph from the southeast direction in the afternoon. The wind speed will decrease becoming less than 08 kmph from the southeast direction during the evening and night on 04.11.2025. Partly cloudy sky with smog/shallow fog during morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are likely to be in the range of 29 to 31°C and 17 to 19°C respectively. The minimum temperature will be above normal up to 1 – 3oC and the maximum temperature will be near normal. The predominant surface wind will likely to be from the southeast direction associated with calm wind as gradually increasing up to 10 kmph during morning hours. The wind speed will increase becoming less than 15 kmph from the southeast direction in the afternoon. The wind speed will decrease becoming less than 05 kmph from the northeast direction during the evening and night on 05.11.2025.
  3. Predicted maximum mixing depth is likely to be 2050 m on 02.11.2025, 2100 m on 03.11.2025, 1400 m on 04.11.2025 and 1900 m on 05.11.2025 over Delhi. Ventilation index is likely to be 16000 m2/s on 02.11.2025, 15200 m2/s on 03.11.2025, 3000 m2/s on  04.11.2025 and  5200 m2/s  on 05.11.2025 over Delhi. The ventilation index lower than 6000 m2/s with average wind speed less than 10 kmph is unfavourable for dispersion of pollutants.
